What I can do for you
- Sensor fusion with Kalman or particle filters
- Analog/digital signal processing
- Model-based / PID controllers
- Rapid prototyping with dSPACE devices
- 2 layer PCBs in Eagle or KiCAD
- Microcontrollers:
- ARM Cortex MCUs
- Atmel AVR MCUs
- Interfacing via serial buses:
- CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C/SP, …
Why hire me?
I am the right choice for your embedded systems when you need to process sensor signals, implement a controller or perform sensor fusion for state estimation (also for distributed systems). This is something I have done many times before, and you can benefit from my strong background in control engineering. I am also happy to pitch in for a small part of a project where your requirements match with my skills.
My experience
- During my PhD in the CRC1244, I developed hardware and software for a 2 m tall scale model of an adaptive truss structure. You can read more about it in this publication. Short summary:
- PCB design for amplifying and processing signals of 60 strain gauge sensors
- Embedded software for interfacing with motor controllers and a dSPACE device via CAN/Ethernet
- Hardware-in-the-loop simulation on the dSPACE rapid prototyping system using MATLAB+Simulink
- As a hobby project, I replaced the burnt-down interior of a purely electromechanical pinball machine with a custom-built microcontroller board and solid-state relays. Read more about it on GitHub
- Throughout my studies, I worked as a research assistant which always involved embedded systems:
- PCB design and software development for an optoacoustic indoor localisation system
- Sensor fusion for a self-balancing two-wheeled scooter to be used in a student lab experiment
- Implementation of a Kalman filter for a ball-on-plate student lab experiment
- Hardware and software design of a signal generator used in microfluidic systems
- Supervision of graduate student labs on:
- Signal processing/dynamic filtering in telecommunications
- Real time signal processing
