Read on to find out more about the person behind Strophurus Solutions and how I came up with that name.
Dr.-Ing. Alexander Warsewa
I’m an engineer with several years of experience in the energy sector, trained in Germany and now based in Brisbane, Australia. I’m passionate about the energy transition and enjoy helping companies develop solutions to make it happen. I also have a background in other engineering disciplines, which allows me to adapt quickly to new challenges.
My interests are broad, as reflected in my CV, which you can download below. Being versatile and a fast learner, I integrate smoothly into new projects and teams, delivering practical results efficiently.

I love languages and learned quite a few:

Listed by order of proficiency. From Italian to the right, I’ve not achieved conversational fluency. Feel free to contact me in any of the left four though.
Why Strophurus?
Strophurus is the name of a genus of geckos commonly known as “spiny tailed” geckos that is endemic to Australia and also lives in Queensland, where I currently reside and started off as a freelancer. I have been fascinated by geckos since I was a kid. Before moving continents, I bought a book called “Geckos of Australia”. This is how I first encountered the spiny tailed fellas and eventually decided to name my business after them.

Sustainability
- I refuse to offer my services in projects that I consider harmful to the environment, and will decline work on products or services that do not provide a tangible benefit for society or nature. If you seek my services as a non-profit environmental organisation and are on a budget, we can work something out
- 1% for the planet: I donate 1% of my income to gecko conservation or other wildlife conservation initiatives worldwide
- This website is hosted sustainably by GreenGeeks. I prefer using refurbished or second hand devices for my work over buying brand-new ones. I will choose or advocate for a renewable energy provider where I work. If I travel for work at all, it’s public transportation over car over aeroplane.
- Instead of focusing on business development and working long-hour weeks, I dedicate some time to volunteering with the Queensland Conservation Council
- Let me know if there is anything else I can do that I didn’t think of!
