To keep the promise of donating 1% of the income of Strophurus Solutions to gecko conservation or other wildlife conservation, my second donation goes to the Australian Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW). I could not find any current projects that are exclusively dedicated to gecko conservation. However, a lot of gecko species are endemic to Australia and any well-managed habitat protection efforts hopefully also have positive impact on native geckos. The FNPW did play a role in rescuing Lister’s gecko on Christmas Island in the past though.
This time I wanted to give to an Australian organisation, since I live here at the moment and thus also indirectly contribute to pollution and habitat destruction.
The FNPW’s main strategies are habitat restoration and protection, the implementation of species recovery programs and conservation-related research. They originate in New South Wales, but are now operating Australia-wide. Check out their website (linked above) to read more about their work and click here to donate too!
